The flowers are excellent for cutting. It has light green deciduous foliage which emerges red in spring. The oval compound leaves do not develop any appreciable fall color. Landscape Attributes Rose (Climbing), Kiss Me Kate is a multi-stemmed deciduous shrub with an upright spreading habit of growth. Its average texture blends into the landscape, but can be balanced by one or two finer or coarser trees or shrubs for an effective composition. This shrub will require occasional maintenance and upkeep. Each spring, cut back all dead and two-year old canes to the ground, leaving only last year's growth standing. It is a good choice for attracting bees to your yard.
